Reza, founder of Digital Canada Communications will be covering two topics:

1. A business overview and cost analysis of using Open Source Call Centres in the field, specifically ViciDial. How complete the implementation is, and how well it scales.

2. His impressions of the huge NXTComm telecom conference in the US a couple of weeks ago, where he met with Mark Spencer (founder of Asterisk & Digium), along with Allison Smith the Voice of Asterisk

This month's meeting will be split into two parts:

For the first half, Henry Coleman will be presenting a case study of a small / medium sized law firm with two locations and two SOHO locations. Demonstrating how Asterisk is as a real solution that can make a company more productive and save money.

For the second half, Simon Ditner will be exploring VoIP traffic by demonstrating some very useful tools to capture traffic on the wire. He will then be dissecting the captured packets and explaining how SIP works, and how to troubleshoot it when it doesn't.

This month, Philip Mullis will be giving a talk on integrating faxing with Asterisk using hylafax and iaxmodem.

Ian Darwin will be giving a talk this month, entitled: Web Config
Considered Harmful: Deploying Polycom and Nortel Phones Made Simple* with
Asterisk.

Seeing as it's the holiday season, this month's meeting will be all about the socialising! There won't be a formal talk, so come directly to Toby's this Wednesday for some holiday cheer.
